Our Story

Our journey began with a desire to create belonging for African families in Bradford, where we noticed a gap in culturally relevant activities. Despite setbacks, we realized the need to be the catalyst for change, leading to the birth of African Ventures CIC.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a range of activities and services that not only entertain but also educate and support our community members, making us a unique beacon of cultural and recreational engagement in the local area.

Our Values

Our values focus on fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and community cohesion. We prioritize celebrating cultural traditions and providing support to those from low-income families. Health and well-being are central, aiming to promote joy and unity among participants. Respect for individual backgrounds underpins all interactions, guiding us in creating a supportive and vibrant community that thrives on unity.

Every Monday

Health and Wellbeing Chats with a Nutritionist. If you have any lifestyle and diet related questions, you can tune in. Our Qualified Nutritionist will provide non medical advice and support.

Every Tuesday

Every Tuesday at 4:30 pm, the children have a virtual meeting after school. This is a dedicated and safe space, guided by a DBS-checked tutor, where they can share their experiences from the week, discuss any challenges, and celebrate exciting moments together. It's also a learning environment where activities are designed collaboratively by both the tutor and the children.

Let's catch up over a cuppa. At the moment, we are meeting online and hope to resume the in person sessions soon.

Every Thursday

Whether you are new in the UK or not, we understand it can be very difficult to understand the word meanings, signs and anything that has to do with driving. Whether you have a test booked or you need help right from the beginning, this space is there to help you tackle any challenges you are facing related to driving. Our qualified instructor will be there to help you through step by step.

Every Month

We get together and have fun. Sometimes we meet somewhere and we go together, either way, our activities are diverse and inclusive. If you are interested in joining us, please get in touch!
